環境保護の観点より、竹林の間伐・整備をしながら選りすぐりの竹を持ち帰ります。
竹の加工は難しいとされ、竹それぞれの持つ固有の特徴を見定めながら20年もの間竹と向き合っております。
乾燥から始まり彫りや削り、塗りなどの加工工程を経て、全て作家・平木による手仕事の他にない逸品です。

ユネスコエコパークに認定された宮崎県・綾町の竹材をベースに、自然素材をふんだんに使い仕上げた一点物となります。竹の伐採から、加工、塗仕上げに至るまで作家自身で行なっており、1年半から2年の歳月をかけて仕上げております。

「唯一無二」のオリジナル作品です。

『竹は自然素材です。』
温度や湿度変化により無作為な割れが生じる場合があるため、前もって割れ目を入れておくことで、その力の作用を防止する「背割り加工」を施しています。
防止策は致しておりますが、カビやひび割れが発生する事もあります。高温多湿を避け、直射日光の当たらない室内の風通しの良い場所でのご使用がオススメです。

This Bamboo Lantern takes one and a half to two years to complete. From an environmental perspective, only the best bamboo is selected while thinning and maintaining bamboo forests. Bamboo processing is considered difficult, as it involves discerning the unique characteristics of each bamboo over a period of 20 years. The process starts with drying and includes carving, shaving, painting, etc., making each piece a unique handcrafted work by the artist Hiraki.

This is a luxurious piece featuring intricate openwork carving all over its surface. It is finished simply in red lacquer, and the hemp cord is accented in a monochrome of black and white.

Made with natural materials, including bamboo from Ayacho, Miyazaki Prefecture, which is recognized as a UNESCO Eco Park. The artist personally handles everything from bamboo cutting to processing and finishing, taking one and a half to two years to complete.

“Bamboo is a natural material.”
To prevent cracks that can occur due to temperature and humidity changes, a “back-splitting” process is applied to control the stress. However, mold and cracking may still occur. To prevent this, it is recommended to avoid high humidity and direct sunlight and to use it in a well-ventilated indoor area.
